Gilli Danda is an ancient sport of India, its origin possibly over 2500 years ago.
It is believed to be the precursor of Western games such as cricket, baseball, and softball. The game is played with two sticks: a large one called the Danda, which is used to hit a smaller one known as Gilli.
This is an outdoor game and is generally played in the streets or in an open space
Toss a coin to decide which player/ team becomes the striker and which player/ team becomes the fielder
The striker places the Gilli across the oval-Shaped hale and uses the danda to tab the Gilli up in the air
if Gilli fall safely the striker has to tap the tapered end of the Gilli with his danda and quickly strike it back into the air using the danda
After 3 hits, the distance between the Gilli and the center of the oval hole is calculated using the danda one length of the danda is equal to one point
If a fielder catches the Gilli or hits the danda from the landed point of the Gilli after the first lab, the striker is out
at the end of the inning the player/teams alternates position between striking and fielding
